Modern sauna area in the Stadtbad Okeraue, located directly on the edge of Wolfenbüttel's old town.

Stadtbad Okeraue offers guests a sauna area with a Finnish and low-temperature sauna, steam bath, cold water area, relaxation zone with fireplace, relaxation and sleeping areas. The outdoor sauna, built on a footbridge, offers a magnificent view through the large panoramic window over the very spacious 6,000 m² sauna garden, which extends to the banks of the Oker. There are also various sunbathing terraces in the sauna garden and a spacious relaxation deck on the sauna jetty.

A centrally located restaurant offers sauna guests drinks, snacks and hot and cold dishes.

Finnish sauna

The Finnish sauna is suitable for up to 35 people. The light-colored hemlock wood of the cladding in combination with the large window ensures a light-filled sauna experience. Visitors have a view of the beautiful sauna garden through the window. Regular sauna infusions ensure intense sweating fun at 75 to 80 degrees Celsius.

Bio sauna

Up to 30 visitors sweat gently in the bio sauna: Only around 65 to 70 degrees Celsius in the cabin allow for a mild sauna. The dark red cedar wood tone is responsible for the cosy atmosphere inside, which is gently surrounded by a colored light system.

Steam bath

The steam sauna variant is characterized by a fairly low temperature of around 50 to 55 degrees Celsius. At the same time, however, the humidity reaches up to 100 percent. The steam bath is elaborately designed with its green and gold glass mosaic. The LED lighting enchants guests with an interesting play of colors.

Outdoor sauna

The outdoor sauna for 25 to 30 guests is located on a footbridge. The large panoramic window offers a beautiful view of the sauna garden. 85 to 90 degrees Celsius promise a challenging sauna experience. Infusions further increase the sweating effect.

Cooling down

For the obligatory cooling down after a sauna session, various showers, a Kneipp hose, a splash bucket and a plunge pool are available in the cold water area. The Kneipp pools for alternating baths enable the healing and stimulating hydrotherapy according to Sebastian Kneipp. A bowl of crushed ice provides ice-cold refreshment.

Sauna garden

The extensive sauna garden promises relaxation. Around 6000 square meters allow you to spend cosy hours on the banks of the Oker. The small idyll is framed by old trees. On the terraces, visitors experience relaxing tranquillity: The loungers, various seating areas and the sun deck are a wonderful place to enjoy the weather.

Resting facilities

To relax after extensive sauna sessions, there is a separate relaxation room equipped with loungers for those who enjoy sweating In the lounge area, those seeking relaxation can enjoy the ambience on the seating groups and loungers in front of the fireplace.
