The Old Wolfenbüttel is the quaint pub also affectionately known to locals as ‘Theo’ after a former landlord, and is the homely meeting point in the Old town, a real institution! At Theo’s you’ll find beer from the barrel, as well as other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Coffee, tea and snacks at moderate prices are also to hand. The two stories offer places for 60 (thirsty) guests. In addition, in summertime an extra 40 visitors can make themselves comfy in the Beer Garden. Locals and visitors alike gladly drop in here for a drink and a snack — a visit to Theo after a trip to the open market on Wednesday or Saturday is a favourite tradition for many Wolfenbüttelers. And once a year, the pub is absolutely crammed that winter is really warm: at midday on 24th December new, old and current residents gather together to get into the mood for Christmas Eve.
