After extensive renovation, Bettina and Carsten Richter opened the modern wood-fired oven café in a new design in Dr.-Heinrich-Jasper-Straße in 2016. They are continuing the 80-year history of the Richter family of bakers and skillfully combine tradition with modernity and innovation. The focus is always on the bakery trade, the customer and service. This is also reflected in the atmospheric and stylish interior design concept of the wood-fired café, where regional specialties and pastries come directly from wood-fired ovens and the adjoining bakery and are sold and served by a dedicated and friendly team. Visitors can also linger outside on the terrace under the awning, enjoy a cozy get-together or simply take a short coffee break.
Richters Holzofencafé is barrier-free and there is ample parking right outside the front door - even for a bus. This makes the café particularly suitable for groups.
For those who don't just want to buy the delicacies, but also want to get involved themselves, there are various dates throughout the year when you can take a basic baking course. In the "Kleine Backstube", participants make various breads and braided loaves together with the professionals. On top of this, there is also a guided tour of the bakery, a tasting including drinks as well as a recipe book and a baking apron.
